Lips Scrubs

Salt & Sugar Lip Scrub
Mix salt, white sugar and vaseline. Apply the mixture on your lips and gently rub the mixture to remove dead skin cells.
Wash your lips with water and your lips will be soft and smooth.
Use 2 or 3 time a week if your lips tend to be very dry and flaky.

Sugar Lip Scrub
Mix a small amount of coarse sugar with a few drops of water.
Apply the mixture onto lips and gently rub it in. Wash with lukewarm water and apply olive oil or vaseline to moisturize them.

Honey Lip Scrub
You will need the following:
1 teaspoon of honey
1 teaspoon of baking soda
a few drops of olive oil
Start with a base. I like something waxy, such as good old ChapStick which is economical
Scrape off a little ChapStick with a knife or small spatula and make a paste-like consistency by adding sugar.
Add a sprinkle of cinnamon, apply, and get smooching.

Mix the honey and baking soda until a smooth paste is formed.
Apply the mixture on your lips and leave it on for a few minutes then gently rub the lips to remove dead skin.

Wash your lips with water and apply olive oil on your lips to moisturize them.

What you need:
1 tea spoon of honey
1 tea spoon of sugar (brown or white sugar)
and a tiny bit of vaseline

Stir it all up and fill it in a little container. Don't keep it in the fridge because the honey is going to harden. I would recommend not keeping it longer than a week.

Another Sugar lip scrub:
It's easy just dip your finger in it and apply it all over your lips and gently srub it. Try not to harsh if you have sensitive lips. The sugar scrubs away the dead skin cells and the honey and vaseline add moisture to your lips. Then you can either lick it off your lips or wipe it off with a tissue. After all that just apply your favorite lip balm.

Homemade Sugar Body Scrub Recipe

8 Cups turbinado (raw) or light brown sugar1 ½ to 2 Cups avocado, untoasted sesame oil or jojoba oil½ to 1 Cup apricot or peach kernel oilessential oil (we used ginger and vanilla)honey for smoothing the texture

body scrubs2Image by shastared via FlickrIf you use turbinado, you will probably want more oil because turbinado has a coarser texture than light brown sugar. Turbinado, being a specialty ingredient, also costs a lot more than brown sugar. You can use either form of sugar, just make sure that with the brown sugar, you're keeping a careful eye on the liquid ingredients so your scrub doesn't dissolve into a thin paste. Use honey only if you find your scrub is too dry, or just increase the amount of oil you use instead. Mix oils into the sugar slowly, stirring to keep the consistency smooth, and stop when you can form the mixture into a slightly wet ball without it dripping through your fingers. Add the essential oils last: they are for fragrance, not moisture, and you'll only need a few drops—maybe eight—to get the aroma strong enough. Never use "fragrance oils"—they are chemical fakes that have never been near a plant and can cause irritation or even allergic symptoms. Instead, make sure to use essential oils, which are the true plant oils expressed by pressing or by steam distillation from the actual plants. Before choosing an essential oil, make sure that it is considered to be good for the skin—some essential oils are irritants and are meant for other purposes. Some skin friendly oils include rose, rosemary, lemon, mandarin, lavender and chamomile.

Salt to exfoliate your skinSalt recipe.
In this body scrub, you can substitute 8 cups of coarse or kosher salt for the sugar in the recipe above. The nice thing about do it yourself scrubs is that you can then vary the ingredients to make your own favorite scents. Instead of essential oils, you may decide to add cocoa or coffee for a chocolate or mocha body scrub. Add vanilla; your scrub will smell fantastic. Here's how:
